That was undeniably the worst performance by the Bowling Green football team in the decade I've followed them. Yes, it was worse than Buffalo's first 1-A win in thirty years. Worse than the game where Kansas State had more points than BG did yards of total offense. Worse than the Boise State game two years ago.
I'm not sure I can agree with this. Defensively, the team played well enough to win. (Which, I know, sounds a little silly considering that they gave up 63 points and 500+ yards, but bear with me.) They just kept getting stuck on the short field and couldn't get off the field because the offense got the dropsies. It happens. This isn't nearly as bad as 8 straight sneaks on the goal line without converting, or losing to Buffalo. This is just the ball bouncing toward a team that has enough offense to pick it up

This may not technically be worse than those games that Nick mentions, but it was worse from the standpoint this beat-down was on national TV. And it wasn't just the fumbles; the defense could not stop Tulsa in that 1st half. Case in point, the fumble inside the BG 10; Tulsa then drove 91 yards to score a TD. Technically a score off turnover, but that is a drive of offense on a turnover that should've merely prevented a BG score. Fugly stuff.
